Bard Graduate Center offers a range of resources for our students. These are both curricular—such as our Focus Project, an initiative that ties our teaching to our exhibitions—and extracurricular—such as our Materials Days series, a number of site-specific visits to makers’ studios around New York City. Other resources, such as the Digital Media and Object Labs, are physical spaces that give students access to equipment and objects and encourage new modes of scholarship. And our Bard Travel Program give our MA students a funded two-week study trip to Europe and now includes that chance to extend the stay to participate in archaeological field work in Greece. For both MA and PhD students, BGC had competitive funding available to assist in the costs of travel for either conferences, qualifying paper and dissertation research, and for international internships.
