Ivan Gaskell once again served on the Old Master Paintings Vetting Committee of The European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF), which was held March 11-20 in Maastrich, Netherlands.

On March 20, Jeffrey Collins presented a paper entitled “From Ditch to Nitch: Digging the Villa of Cassius” at the annual conference of the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies in Los Angeles.

At the Renaissance Society of America Conference, which was held in Berlin March 26–28, Deborah L. Krohn chaired and co-organized a session on “The Mobile Household in Early Modern Europe” and delivered a paper entitled “Moveable Feasts in Early Modern Europe.”Peter N. Miller chaired the roundtable session, “Defining the Antiquarian,” and Andrew Morrall chaired a triple session on “The Extended Narrative of the Object.”

On April 25, François Louis will present a paper entitled “Picturing Antiquity in China’s Middle Period: Nie Chongyi’s Illustrations to the Rites Classics” at the China Project Workshop of the Institute of Fine Arts.
